Copyright is an automatic unregistered right that protects the way something is expressed in a piece of work.
It comes into effect as soon as the piece of work is created and "fixed" in some way, for example on paper, film, via sound or video recording, or as an electronic record.
Although it is not legally required in the UK , it is advisable to mark your copyright work with the copyright symbol © followed by your name and the date.
